Nationally Recognized Leader and School Safety Advocate Joins Computer Vision Company To Continue Community Safety Mission on a National Scale

ROC, the only American-made multimodal biometrics and computer vision provider, today announced the appointment of Dr. Adam Cheeseman as Director of School and Community Safety. Cheeseman joins ROC from Doddridge County, WV Schools, where he served for eight years as superintendent and was most recently named 2024 West Virginia Superintendent of the Year.

Safeguarding the Next Generation

In his new role, Cheeseman will draw upon his experience in education and student welfare to support ROC’s mission of protecting communities through innovative public safety and security solutions. Having spent the bulk of his career singularly focused on empowering and protecting students, he views this next chapter at ROC as an opportunity to build on that mission, this time on a national level.

“The safety of children and future generations has always been my top priority. I care deeply for our kids and am passionate about creating secure, nurturing environments for their development. Little did I know at the time that this aligns perfectly with ROC’s mission of making the world smarter, safer, and stronger. With ROC, I’ve been empowered to continue my lifelong mission, albeit on a much larger scale, working to ensure the protection of our most valuable assets – our children, educators, parents, and support staff – across the country. It’s a chance to make a real far-reaching impact on people’s lives.”

-Dr. Adam Cheeseman, Director of School and Community Safety

School Safety as a Collective Responsibility

Cheeseman will collaborate closely with school districts, law enforcement, and community organizations across the U.S. to roll out ROC’s advanced public safety solutions. These AI-powered surveillance and monitoring systems aim to identify and address potential threats in real time, preventing incidents before they happen.

One such example is ROC Watch, the company’s flagship AI video analytics and threat detection platform, which combines face recognition, weapons and gun detection, visitor management, and perimeter control into a frictionless, intelligent security system. ROC Watch integrates seamlessly with standard security systems and cameras, enabling security teams to transition from reactive responses to proactive prevention.

“Adam shares our vision for empowering communities through innovative security solutions, and his experience will be invaluable as we push to make schools and public spaces safer nationwide. We’re thrilled to have him on our team, and know that under his leadership, our school and community safety division will thrive.”
