More Accurate Face Recognition, Less Space

All three face recognition models are more accurate in SDK 3.17, with slightly smaller template sizes than the prior release. At strict thresholds used in national ID, border control, and civil enrollment programs, the accurate and very accurate models deliver a 1.25x lower error rate.

Vehicle detection takes a big leap forward, with our fast detector finding more vehicles and delivering a 2.77x lower error rate at the same precision. An optional additional step further improves the classification of detected vehicles.

Expanded On-Device Acceleration

SDK 3.17 brings hardware acceleration across more of the SDK on Qualcomm and Apple devices, including face recognition, liveness, and vehicle detection. Apple developers can also ship leaner apps by deploying just the accelerated models they need.
